Q. How do I personalize my Cherished Candle?
A. Our website allows you to create a one-of-a-kind, personalized Cherished Candle with your own photos, artwork, digital graphics and text. Names, dates, poems and messages along with your photo or artwork add a personal touch. It is possible to create a text-only or photo-only candle as well.
To personalize your candle, follow the options to upload your image and enter your text and names. Please note that some designs allow only text and names.
Q. Is it possible to design my own layout for my personalized Cherished Candles?
A. Contact us at and we will work with you to manufacture your Cherished Candles design.
Q. Does Cherished Candles enhance my photo before making a personalized gift?
A. We may do some basic adjustments that we feel will enhance your photo, unless directed otherwise.
Q. What resolution should my image be for my personalized Cherished Candles?
A. We recommend a photo or image with a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Most digital cameras’ medium quality settings are sufficient. We will check the resolution of the photo you choose for your Cherished Candle to determine whether or not it meets our minimum requirement.
Q. What should the file format of my photo or artwork be for my personalized Cherished Candles?
A. We can accept images that are JPG format, maximum 2MB.
Q. Can I use black & white and sepia tone photos to create my personalized Cherished Candle?
A. Yes, you can use black & white and sepia tone photos. Upon request, we will create a black and white or sepia tone photo for you from your color photo. Clipart, drawings, photos and just about any graphic you have on your computer can be used.
Q. Can I send photos to Cherished Candles via postal mail?
A. Not at this time. Please scan your photos to create a jpeg of at least 300 dpi. A professional print house can do this for you and will put the images on a disk or USB memory stick.
Q. Is there a minimum quantity of personalized Cherished Candles I must order?
A. No, there is no minimum quantity of personalized candles you must order. You can order one or one hundred. However, we do offer a discount when you order at least 10 Cherished Candles at one time. Please contact us at for a volume discount quote.
Q. Can I change my personalized Cherished Candle design after my order has been placed?
A. Once your order has been received, we begin our manufacturing process so we can deliver your Cherished Candle to you as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your changes. To eliminate the need to make changes to your order please make sure that you review all of your information prior to finalizing your order and checking out.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. Payment is online with a credit card at PayPal. You do not require a PayPal account. Prices are in Canadian funds.
Q. How long will it take to have my personalized Cherished Candles delivered?

A. A shipping and handling fee will be added to your order as follows:

2-4 candles $17

Q. Can I ship a personalized, custom Photo Candle gift directly to a family member or friend?
A. Yes, you can. A Cherished Candle gift can be shipped to any address in the world. If you have any questions, please contact . We will be happy to confirm production schedules and delivery times for you.
Q. What is your return policy?
A.We want you to be 100% satisfied with your Cherished Candle. We will gladly replace any personalized candle that is defective, misspelled by us or damaged in shipment. Because our candles are personalized just for you we cannot accept returns for reasons other than those mentioned. Please contact if you have a problem with your order.
Q. Is it safe to burn my personalized Cherished Candle?
A. It is safe to burn your personalized candle as long as you follow our burning instructions:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Never burn a candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
- Never burn the last 1/2" of a candle.
- Keep candles away from drafts, vents and flammable objects.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Keep matches and other debris out of your candles.
- Always burn candles on a protected heat-resistant surface.
- Always keep your candle wick centered and trimmed to 1/4".
- Extinguish candles carefully. Use our complimentary-with–each-order snuffer.
- Keep candles out of direct sunlight to prevent fading.
Q. How can I create a glow inside my personalized, custom Cherished Candle?
A. When lighting your personalized Cherished Candle for the first time, let the wax pool reach no less than 1/4" from the candle’s edge, extinguish the flame and allow the candle to harden before relighting. This will prevent leaking by building a shell around the candle's perimeter.
Q. Is there another way to preserve my Cherished Candle?
A. We have provided a complimentary soy tealight candle. After burning your personalized Cherished Candle for several hours, a well in the wax will be created. Extinguish the flame with your complimentary candle snuffer and insert your soy tea light. Simply replace your soy tea light as needed.
Q. Will my Cherished Candle drip?
A. If the Candle Care burning instructions are followed, the candle will not drip.
Q. What is the best way to extinguish my personalized Cherished Candle?
A. The best way to extinguish your candle is to use the complimentary candle snuffer we have provided.
Q. How can I keep my personalized Cherished Candle looking like new?
A. We recommend displaying your personalized candle in an area free from direct sunlight. This will prevent fading and discoloration and help your Cherished Candle last for years to come.
Q. Why does my personalized Cherished Candle wick form a mushroom shape?
A. When your candle is consuming more wax than the flame can efficiently burn, a mushroom shaped wick results. This phenomenon usually takes place when the visible wick is longer than 1/4". To prevent this from happening, keep the visible wick centered and trimmed to 1/4". Keep the wick trimmings and other debris out of the candle.
Q. Do Cherished Candles personalized candles contain lead-free wicks?
A. Yes, our pillar candles as well as our soy candles contain lead-free wicks.
